Birthday Trip to the Zoo

My birthday was May 25th. Originally we were talking about going down to Southern California, but we ended up having to change plans as my old computer was simply not functional for editing photos and we needed to replace it.

We ended up heading up to Portland to take our son to the Oregon Zoo for the first time. He loves animals, especially spiders, and was most excited to see monkeys and tarantulas. There was an orangutan with a six week old baby, and E pretended to be a baby orangutan for a good hour.

His favorite part was the carousel, which he insisted on riding twice.

My husband was in charge of photographing the day. I try to not spend so much of my time with a camera in hand when I am spending time with my family, as it takes away from experiencing the moments.
