May Families

The last day of May is slipping away from us now, and we’re heading full-fledged into summer, although it still doesn’t quite feel like it as the weather continues to be gray and rainy.

In the month of May, I had the honor of photographing five beautiful mamas and families as part of my Mother’s Day minis, and one full family session out at Dorris Ranch.

Is there anything more beautiful than to photograph the heart of a family? I love the connections, the moments that capture the family dynamics, the smiling children and their inherent curiosity about the camera.

I truly believe that mamas deserve to be celebrated and to show up in their family photos. I am so passionate about family photography because so often mothers get left out of the photos, and I love the moments when the parents get a moment of just themselves in front of the camera.

No matter which direction this photography journey takes me on (engagement & wedding, senior photography, commercial, etc.) I know that I will always come back to family photography because it holds such a strong place in my heart.
